Fortnite’s Biggest Update of the Season Has Landed

Fortnite players rejoice — after two quiet weeks, Epic Games is back from summer break, and they’ve dropped the long-awaited Superman update. From new mythics and POIs to glitched weapons and updated NPC behavior, there’s a ton of content to break down.

As of this update, players can now unlock the Superman skin, the Super Save emote, and dive into the brand-new Fortress of Solitude POI. But that’s just the start of what’s changed.

The New Superman Mythic — Kryptonian Form

This season’s mythic item is the Kryptonian Form, and it might be Fortnite’s most powerful transformation yet. Similar to the Godzilla or Doom mythics, it spawns mid-game through a randomly placed portal. The first player to enter gets to transform into Superman, gaining:

  • Flight
  • Heat vision
  • Super strength
  • Siphon and extra health

Despite what many assumed, the portal does not spawn at the Fortress of Solitude, but randomly across the map. If you’re lucky enough to get it, you’ll soar into the sky with a cinematic transformation and become Clark Kent himself.

Fortress of Solitude POI — Finally in the Game

After months of teasers and leaks, the Fortress of Solitude is live on the map. Replacing the previously expanded Lakeside Laboratory, this icy biome is themed directly after the new Superman movie and uses the same model as seen in trailers. It’s tied deeply to the current lore, especially through Hope and Valeria’s vision paintings.

Originally expected to replace Mass Meadows, the POI now stands on its own as one of the coolest additions of Chapter 6.

Secret & Glitched Weapons Discovered

Players have discovered a hidden feature involving the Haley Sky NPC, who equips unreleased weapons when attacked or hired. She uses both the Maven Auto Shotgun and Havoc Suppressed AR — two Chapter 5 favorites not meant to be in the current loot pool.

However, she won’t drop the weapons even if defeated. The only way to use them (indirectly) is to hire her as an NPC and let her fight by your side.

Unstable Weapons Return: Bounce Grenade & Thunderclap DMR

The unstable bounce grenade and unstable thunderclap DMR are officially in the game after appearing on the news tab weeks ago. You’ll need to:

  • Complete explosive damage quests for the DMR
  • Defeat Overlord Spires for the bounce grenade

Both weapons bring unique functionality to your inventory. The thunderclap DMR randomly causes bullets to explode on impact. The bounce grenade, meanwhile, ricochets around the battlefield and damages everything in range.

Sadly, you can’t buy the bounce grenade from Nightrose yet — your only chance is random drop luck from Overlord Spires.

New Glitch Lets You Walk Under the Map

Players have also discovered a glitch that lets you enter underneath the map at the science lab bunker near Brutal Box Cars. Using an SUV and a boost/jump combo, you can phase below the map and explore behind the scenes.

What makes this glitch better than previous ones? You can shoot out of it. Not always effectively, but it opens the door for some wild mid-match experiments.

More Added: Lex Luthor Skin & Lore Connections

Superman’s archenemy, Lex Luthor, was also added in this patch. His set was encrypted in Fortnite’s files and will be available in the Item Shop the same day the new Superman movie hits theaters.

In-game lore also connects the vision paintings, Hope and Valeria’s storyline, and the Spirit Realm all to the rise of Superman. The Kryptonian Form mythic could become a major tool in the fight against Demon Daigo and the expanding spirit corruption.

The Superman mythic portal spawns randomly mid-match. It does not appear at the Fortress of Solitude.
