Cartoons Collide with the Island

Fortnite has always been known for its larger-than-life crossovers, but when it comes to cartoons, Epic Games takes their attention to detail to another level. Whether it’s subtle nods or full-blown animated emotes, the game is packed with cartoon Easter Eggs that fans may have missed. From The Simpsons to Avatar: The Last Airbender, these secrets span across multiple chapters and events in Fortnite’s ever-expanding universe.

It all starts with the Storm’s Common emote. At first glance, it may just look like a character ringing a bell, but fans of The Simpsons will instantly recognize the reference.

From there, the rabbit hole only goes deeper, with countless references to cartoon classics—some overt, others cleverly hidden in plain sight.

Family Guy, Futurama, and King of the Hill: Deep Cuts Galore

One of the most surprising additions was Peter Griffin. After years of rumors, Epic finally delivered, complete with golden tuxedo (a callback to the lottery episode) and his iconic Butt Scratcher pickaxe.

Meanwhile, Hank Hill joined the fray with a Propaniac username and his legendary flat posterior. Fortnite even leaned into the joke, asking fans on social media: “Did we get it right?” His emote replicates the show’s intro—albeit with slurp juice instead of beer to keep things PG.

The Futurama collab goes deep, referencing the multiverse episode with alternate character styles. Even Bender can be hired as an NPC and delivers a line only die-hard fans would catch:

From Avatar to Adventure Time: Legendary Easter Eggs

Epic didn’t hold back with Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Flourish emote makes Aang and Korra’s eyes glow, capturing their Avatar state. Toph’s back bling hides her Earth Rumble Belt, referencing her underground fight club championship. Before the collab even launched, fans noticed an iceberg on the map slowly approaching—a nod to the show’s original intro.

Adventure Time also got its due. BMO’s emote hides a tiny snail that appears throughout the cartoon. And when you use it in Lego Fortnite, it cleverly switches to chopping down trees in pixel style.

Let’s not forget Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Each turtle’s emote shows them posing on a sewer pipe, with unique props depending on the character—from Shredder’s helmet to the Foot Clan banner.

Spongebob, Simpsons, and Beyond

While some cartoons haven’t officially joined Fortnite, that hasn’t stopped Epic from teasing them. During the flood season, a tiny island in the distance resembled Bikini Bottom. Combine that with emotes like Imagination and the World’s Tiniest Violin, and it’s clear Spongebob’s influence is alive and well.

In a more retro nod, a pile of pink donuts appeared in a Chapter 2 control room—clearly a shout-out to Homer Simpson’s workplace snack. And remember the car statue from Chapter 1? That was a tribute to Truckosaurus, again from The Simpsons.

Even classic scenes are recreated. Rick and Morty’s infamous poop episode gets immortalized with a secluded bathroom on the map. And in Cowboy Bebop, Ed makes a sneaky appearance via phone on a back bling.

More Hidden Gems: From Baymax to My Hero Academia

In true Epic fashion, they added Baymax with an emote taken straight from the movie’s medical scan scene. Jack Skellington’s traversal emote is a walking bathtub that even sings. And Gwen Stacy’s emote runs at 24 frames per second—just like the animation in Into the Spider-Verse.

My Hero Academia fans spotted a powerful moment from episode 2 recreated in Fortnite’s trailer, showing Deku kneeling in front of All Might. And even Wreck-It Ralph got a surprise cameo at Risky Reels, appearing out of nowhere on the drive-in screen.
