Bruno Mars and Festival Surprises

While players expected Deadmau5 to headline Festival Season 9, Epic surprised everyone with a brand-new Bruno Mars Skin—despite him already being in the game. This time, the skin comes with new selectable styles, aligning with the rhythm game’s evolving aesthetic.

LEGO and UEFN: New Modes and Bosses

LEGO Fortnite continues to evolve. A brand new mode called Fortnite Expeditions launched alongside the update. It ties directly to the Super theme of this season, featuring characters like Light Rider, Kill Switch, and Morgan Mist—each with unique combat abilities. Players can now battle Demon Daigo and explore Overlord Spires in full LEGO form.

Squid Game Teasers Go Live

Epic teased the Squid Game collab with a cryptic phone number and spectrogram leak last week. The update confirms Creative-mode tools to recreate classic games like Red Light, Green Light. Encrypted skins are already in the files, suggesting full cosmetic sets for guards, contestants, and even VIPs will drop by June 27.

Superman’s Mythic and the Fortress of Solitude

Superman continues to be the face of the season. His mythic—expected in a future 36.20 update—will grant flight, heat vision, and super strength, acquired via a rift portal mid-game. The Fortress of Solitude will also arrive as a POI, teased through art in Hope’s Supernova Academy room. Location remains unconfirmed for now.

Three New Mythic Items in Battle Royale

This update added three new mythics tied to characters from the Battle Pass:

Haley Sky’s Beast Pom Poms – Transforms the player into a beast form, allowing massive dive-bomb attacks.
Light Rider’s Surf Q – Lets players ride a cube-based energy board for unmatched mobility.
Morgan Mist’s Cape – Not fully released yet, this cape grants temporary invisibility and enhanced abilities when paired with Mist Gauntlets.

Mobile-Exclusive Blitz Mode and iOS Push

Epic’s push to revive Fortnite Mobile includes a new fast-paced Blitz mode with 5-minute matches, a new small island, and weekly themes. Aimed at mobile users but available to all, this could bring renewed life to short-session play. A new Blitz-exclusive skin is also rumored to be unlockable for free.
