Squid Game Arrives in Fortnite

After years of waiting, Squid Game is finally in Fortnite. Players can now explore a fully themed Reload map called Squid Grounds, complete quests, and equip custom skins resembling the guards and contestants from the Netflix series. The new skins allow you to choose from 460 different numbers and icons for helmets—circles, squares, or triangles—mirroring the show’s visual style.

Creative mode is also a major part of the collab. Epic added Red Light Green Light assets, including the iconic doll, and even mysterious coffins likely used for disguises or roleplay in custom maps. While most of the content lives outside BR, a few new items like the Redeye SMG and Squid Game invitations are now in the loot pool.

Superman’s Fortress, Mini Live Event & New Story Clues

This update also advances the Season 3 storyline. Hope and Midas are working together, as seen in new story quests and research boards across the island. Utopia City hides a newly revealed portal that hints at the return of the zero point and a mid-season live event titled Fall of the Supernova Academy.

At Lakeside Labs, players found an icy research center set to be the location of the Fortress of Solitude. According to Hope’s vision paintings and hidden dialogue, this will be Superman’s base and part of a future event update.

Battle Royale Blitz: Fast-Paced Mayhem

Fortnite also launched Blitz Royale, a fast-paced BR mode tailored for mobile players. In Blitz, matches last under 5 minutes, with players landing equipped with a weapon and medallion. Every elimination levels you up and rewards more loot.

Epic also confirmed four weeks of Blitz updates—Avatar scrolls, returning bosses like Hades, classic melee weapons from TMNT, and more. While the mode is an LTM and ends July 15, it’s currently one of the most chaotic and fun ways to play Fortnite.

Skins, Rewards & Mythics Galore

The update includes multiple new characters: Storm Beast’s pom poms turn players into a destructive beast, while Miss Cape allows you to fly temporarily. When combined with Mist Gauntlets, it becomes Ascended Mist—a more powerful version with extra abilities.

Superman himself is still yet to fully release, but his mythic ability is coming soon. It will grant heat vision, flight, ground slams, and even siphon, which many believe could be one of the most overpowered mythics in Fortnite’s history.

New customizable Squid Game skins are now live in the item shop, but the quests in Reload only grant XP, not cosmetics. Even so, fans are thrilled to finally get their hands on an official Fortnite x Squid Game experience.
